Our customer is seeking a Senior Desktop and Application Virtualization Engineer to design, deploy, and manage desktop and application virtualization environments using Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops. This role supports modernization efforts and secure cloud adoption for enterprise users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, configure, and manage Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (DDC, StoreFront, WEM, Director).

  • Design and optimize Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) solutions for scalability and performance.

  • Troubleshoot session connectivity, virtualization, and user experience issues.

  • Configure and support IGEL thin clients for cloud-hosted environments.

  • Collaborate with network, platform, and cybersecurity teams to ensure secure, reliable service delivery.

  • Assist in migration planning and integration of hybrid cloud virtualization.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in desktop and application virtualization engineering.

  • 3+ years of Federal or DoD IT experience (military IT experience counts).

  • Hands-on expertise with Microsoft AVD and Citrix in enterprise environments.

  • Proficiency with Windows Server 2019, Active Directory, and PowerShell.

  • Certifications such as Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty or CCP-V preferred.

  • Familiarity with RMF compliance and secure remote access technologies.

Clearance:
Active DoD Secret clearance (or ability to obtain and maintain).
