Senior Project Manager (US Coast Guard)
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager (PM) to support the United States Coast Guard (USCG) in overseeing the design, construction, and delivery of its next-generation fleet of waterways cutters, including Inland Construction Tender (WLIC), River Buoy Tender (WLR), and Inland Buoy Tender (WLI) variants. The ideal candidate is versatile, detail-oriented, and capable of consistently delivering high-quality work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and deadline-driven environment.
This position requires onsite presence at the USCG Facility in Bayou La Batre, AL.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of contact and oversee all contracted work.
Provide daily administrative support for waterways cutter (WCC) production contract oversight.
Assist with communication, document management, report writing, task tracking, briefings, and meeting coordination.
Develop and prepare presentations, emails, documents, white papers, spreadsheets, graphs, and program-related documentation.
Capture meeting minutes and action items.
Conduct research, assemble information, and summarize materials related to the WCC Production Office functions.
Monitor compliance and respond appropriately to reporting requirements.
Process, route, and track incoming correspondence; manage deadlines.
Prepare correspondence and non-technical reports at executive and staff levels.
Maintain comprehensive logs and records for incoming correspondence.
Review outgoing correspondence to ensure compliance with relevant policies.
Compile statistical data and perform analyses to support decision-making processes.
Support data collection, preparation, and submission for various reporting obligations.
Research and prepare communication tools and products for key calendar and acquisition events.
Coordinate and support special programs and media events.
Monitor the production contractor’s Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) using Primavera software.
Maintain internal IMS for documenting recurring events and project milestones.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience; at least four (4) years in a dedicated project management role.
Knowledge of ship construction processes and methodologies.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications including Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, and Excel.
Proficiency in using Primavera scheduling software.
