Our client is seeking an experienced Senior PostgreSQLMySQL Database Administrator able to perform remote consulting assignments, health checks, tuning, assessments, troubleshooting, installations, and migrations.
Will require participation in our 24/7 on call support rotation. Will require daily multitasking among multiple clients.

PostgreSQL DBA Experienced with:
  • MINIMUM of 10 years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA Database Administrator
  • MINIMUM of 7 years of experience as a MySQL DBA Database Administrator
  • PostgreSQL versions 9.3 to 14
  • MySQL (and/or MariaDB 5.7 - 10.x) 5.7 - 8.x
  • AWS SCT, AWS DMS, AWS Aurora PostgreSQL
  • Able to support PostgreSQL/MySQL/MariaDB in cloud environment (AWS, Azure or GCP)
  • Experience with supporting a PostgreSQL/MySQL/Aurora AWS RDS environment
  • Homogenous and Heterogenous Migrations to PostgreSQL
  • Knowledgeable in best practices for maintenance configurations
  • Production experience with Installation, Configuration, Upgrades and Patches
  • Ad hoc Index Maintenance
  • User and Role Management
  • Performance tuning, query analyzation
  • Able to troubleshoot problems with little or no assistance
  • Providing configuration, monitoring and on-call support for development, test, and production environments
  • Able to assist clients with PostgreSQL/MySQL issues on the phone and via screen sharing software on the spot
  • Linux and Microsoft Windows experience required
  • Must communicate effectively both verbally and written
  • Must be able to demonstrate ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • On-call support and regularly scheduled off-hours production installations
  • Ability to export and import data from and to a PostgreSQL/MySQL database
  • Willing to attain additional Certification
  • Willing to learn new skills that benefit the team and company when asked
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • (Preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in a managed services environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL and MySQL architecture, configuration, and
  • performance tuning.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl for automation tasks.
  • Experience with database replication, clustering, and high availability solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex
  • database issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team
  • environment or independently.
  • PostgreSQL, MySQL, and/or MongoDB certification is a plus.
DESIRED:
  • Experience with AWS Glue and other AWS applications
  • Optimizing loads of large volumes of data into a database
  • Stored Procedure and Function Development
  • Writing Foreign Data Wrappers
  • MariaDB Galera cluster experience is a plus
  • Linux/Unix Shell scripting and windows scripting
  • Experience with large corporate business environments
  • Data modeling concepts, also data warehousing development and design a plus
  • System administration skills a plus
  • Technical support or call center support experience a plus
  • Professional Consulting Experience a plus
  • VPN/Network/RDC configuration and debugging skills a plus
