Senior Manager/Supervisor
Our client is seeking a Director of Procurement in Huntsville, Alabama. 

This role is a strategic and tactical working leader who guides all aspects of supply chain management, with an emphasis on continued improvement in supply chain integration and performance.
  • Maximizing operational performance by instilling a forward-looking approach in procurement, proactively identifying supply chain delivery gaps with the use of our ERP/MRP system, leveraging the appropriate teams to drive throughput of product deliveries into the factory to support flawless execution to our customers
  • Integrating supply chain activities across supplier development, strategic commodity, transition management, planning and procurement teams to ensure that systemic supplier deficiencies are well communicated and addressed prior to any business impact
  • Leading account management activities to ensure strong working relationships with all suppliers. This includes ensuring performance of the supporting team's seamless processing of purchase orders, YOY cost savings, and burn down of overdue elements (aged receipts, payments, etc.)
  • Confidently presenting supply chain topics internally and externally with customers, while interacting with senior leadership on a regular basis
  • Instill a culture of continuous improvement aimed at flawless execution of supply chain strategic and tactical support to our production site
  • Develop an organization-wide procurement strategy aligned to business goals
  • Communicate strategy elements, values and risks at an executive level
  • Implement a strategic sourcing road map for sustainable savings 
  • Develop category-specific strategies for ongoing category management and optimization
  • Assess existing organizational effectiveness and competencies
  • Provides ongoing employee development as well as encouragement to exceed their personal goals
  • Implement a robust governance and performance management framework including metrics and scorecards that will improve supplier performance across quality, cost, and delivery
  • Review technology requirements and implement best-fit solutions
  • Working closely with other functional groups during product development to identify new materials, suppliers, and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business or related field
Experience: 10+ years of procurement/supply chain experience in the defense and/or aerospace industry. 5+ years supervisory experience required
Ability to obtain/maintain a US security clearance

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Extensive experience working within the Department of Defense (DoD) procurement environment, including a strong understanding of FAR, DFARS, and other government contracting regulations
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, excellent time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to interface with project team and external vendors and be able to accurately document, report and present
  • A drive for results in a teambuilding environment
  • Ability to research solutions and apply advanced planning tools and techniques to resolve business challenges
  • Strong problem solving and negotiation skills to ensure accountability of supply base is maintained
  • Ability to organize, schedule, budget and coordinate work phases
  • A clear understanding of relevant quality standards including AS9100 Rev D
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint); proficient experience using internal ERP systems, use of all engineering software and related applications
  • No travel restrictions
Preferred Education & Experience:
  • Master’s degree
  • NAPM/ISM, CSCP, CPIM certifications
  • Experience in Lean, Six Sigma or other formal continuous improvement programs
  • Electronics industry experience
  • Experience negotiating national supply agreements with both large and small vendors, letters of intent, and other contractual arrangements
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP system
  • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes
